A Drainage Subcontractor
Built for Renewable Energy EPC Projects
Managing a solar or wind project in the Midwest? You need a drainage subcontractor who understands large-site conditions, ag tile conflicts, and construction timelines. We work with EPC teams on drainage, ag tile relocation, stormwater, erosion control, and civil sitework. Veteran-owned. Field-tested.

You Already Know What Drainage Problems Cost a Project
Standing water shuts down site access. Ag tile conflicts that weren’t identified early create rework. Stormwater issues that weren’t planned for can affect permits, timelines, and long-term site performance.
These are not surprises. They are the kind of problems that show up when drainage is treated as a secondary scope rather than a critical part of site preparation.
Abraham Drainage works with EPC teams to get ahead of those problems. We do drainage planning before installation starts, coordinate around existing agricultural tile systems, and install drainage built to perform through construction and after project turnover.
If your project is in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, or Illinois, and drainage is on your subcontractor list, we want to hear about it.
The field problems we get ahead of
Renewable sites are especially exposed to drainage failure. Left to chance, it shows up as:
Drainage & Civil Sitework Scopes for Renewable Energy Construction
These are the scopes EPC contractors typically bring us in for.
Ag Tile Conflicts & Relocation
Most Midwest renewable development sits on productive farmland. Existing tile is identified, mapped, and rerouted before it conflicts with solar infrastructure or fails post-construction.
Subsurface Drainage Installation
Subsurface systems installed across large-scale sites — designed from actual grade, outlet points, and long-term performance, not a generic plan.
Stormwater & Runoff Management
Panel arrays, access roads, and pads change how water moves. We manage runoff to protect access, meet permit requirements, and keep your civil team clear.
Access Road Drainage
A drainage problem on an access road is a crew and equipment access problem. We address it early so your team can move when they need to.
Erosion Control & Site Stabilization
Erosion control during and after construction to protect drainage infrastructure, stormwater systems, and site conditions through the build.
Drainage Planning Before Installation
Before any machine hits the ground, the plan has to make sense — site conditions, grade, outlets, and constraints reviewed up front. Less rework. Fewer surprises.
Excavation & Civil Sitework Support
When scope extends beyond drainage alone, we support broader excavation and civil sitework as part of a coordinated subcontractor relationship.
What EPC Project Managers & Procurement Teams Need to Know
We understand how renewable energy projects work.
We’re not a residential contractor who occasionally takes a commercial job. Renewable energy drainage and large-scale sitework is our focus — sequencing, coordination, and how drainage fits a larger EPC build.
Ag tile expertise matters on Midwest sites.
On former or active farmland, ag tile conflicts aren’t a maybe — they’re a when. We have the field experience to identify and manage those systems before they hit your schedule.
We coordinate with your team, not around them.
We work within your schedule and coordination structure — clear communication with your PM, your civil team, and any other subcontractors on site.
Planning happens before installation starts.
The design has to work on the ground, not just on paper. We do that planning up front so your crew is not solving drainage problems in the field during construction.
We operate across multiple Midwest states.
Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois. If you manage a multi-state project portfolio, we are worth adding to your subcontractor list.
Veteran-owned business.
Abraham Drainage is an Air Force veteran-owned company. The reliability and execution that comes with that background shows up on the job site.

QUESTIONS EPC PROJECT TEAMS ASK US
Yes. We work as a subcontractor for EPC contractors and general contractors managing renewable energy construction. We coordinate directly with your project management team and work within your construction schedule and reporting requirements.
We locate existing tile systems, map them in relation to proposed solar infrastructure, and coordinate relocation or replacement before they create drainage failures or rework. This is one of the most common scopes we handle on Midwest renewable energy sites, and it’s best addressed before construction begins.
Before site prep starts. Drainage planning that happens during project development reduces conflicts, prevents rework, and avoids access problems during construction. The later drainage gets addressed, the more disruptive the fix becomes.
We work on large-scale commercial and renewable energy sites. We are not a residential contractor. If you have a specific project, contact us with your acreage and scope and we’ll give you a direct answer on fit.
Yes. We regularly work alongside civil engineers, environmental consultants, and other project team members. We fit into the coordination structure your project already has in place.
We do not manage permitting directly. We coordinate our drainage and stormwater work with the requirements established by your permitting and engineering team.
Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois. We are expanding — contact us if your project is in another Midwest state and we’ll tell you what we can do.
Yes. We can provide W-9, insurance certificates, safety documentation, and other standard subcontractor qualification documents your procurement team needs. Download our capability statement for a quick overview or contact us directly.
